Author: Peter Hitchens
About this author
Peter Jonathan Hitchens (born 28 October 1951) is an English journalist and author. Hitchens writes for The Mail on Sunday and is a former foreign correspondent in Moscow and Washington. He has contributed to The Spectator, The American Conservative magazines, The Guardian, Prospect, and the New Statesman. A staunchly principled conservative and religious man, Hitchens takes a confrontational and forcefully opinionated debating style that often makes him a controversial figure.
Formerly a revolutionary socialist, Hitchens has had a long political journey through his life. He is deeply critical of the modern UK Conservative Party[1] and often opposes many of their policies such as the handling of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Hitchens has published nine books, including The Abolition of Britain, The Rage Against God, and The War We Never Fought. His latest book is The Phoney Victory.
