A small collection of longer running videos looking deeper into the history of the monetary system. Unless otherwise marked, text that accompanies each video is copied from the description(s) posted with the source material. Please keep in mind as you are reviewing the material that while you may not agree with, or even like, the original source (David Icke being one example), the idea here is that in the case of the monetary system, they are all saying basically the same thing. Given that, there must be some credence to the idea that we have a really big problem that must be dealt with.
The Money Masters
The Money Masters saidTHE MONEY MASTERS is a 3 1/2 hour non-fiction, historical documentary that traces the origins of the political power structure. The modern political power structure has its roots in the hidden manipulation and accumulation of gold and other forms of money. The development of fractional reserve banking practices in the 17th century brought to a cunning sophistication the secret techniques initially used by goldsmiths fraudulently to accumulate wealth. With the formation of the privately-owned Bank of England in 1694, the yoke of economic slavery to a privately-owned "central" bank was first forced upon the backs of an entire nation, not removed but only made heavier with the passing of the three centuries to our day. Nation after nation has fallen prey to this cabal of international central bankers. themoneymasters.com
Notes: The YouTube video contains a small banner that has been inserted by the uploader. This should not be taken as an endorsement for matrixrebellion.com by either The Money Masters or this site. It has come to light after production that some of the quotes mentioned in the film are incorrect. The author has cleaned these up in his next film (next tab).
The Secret of Oz
The Secret of Oz saidIt is well known in economics academia that The Wonderful Wizard of Oz written by L. Frank Baum in 1900 is loaded with powerful symbols of monetary reform which were the core of the Populist movement and the 1896 and 1900 president bid of Democrat William Jennings Bryan. The yellow brick road (gold standard), the emerald city of Oz (greenback money), even Dorothy's silver slippers (changed to ruby slippers for the movie version) were the symbol of Baum's and Bryan's belief that adding silver coinage to gold would provide much needed money to a depression-strapped, 1890s America. We believe Baum's symbols represent the only solution to relieve the growing economic hardship here in America - and the rest of the world. Practically speaking, 2009 marks the 70th anniversary of the 1939 MGM release of the The Wizard of Oz movie, so interest will be very high. Even Oz websites put up by kids get millions of hits. secretofoz.com
Notes: this documentary is a follow-up to the MoneyMasters. It is much shorter in length than MoneyMasters, but does cover a lot of the same information so if you are tight on time, watching the Secret of Oz will be a good alternative to MoneyMasters.
Chris Martenson saidExecutive summary: Father of three young children; author; obsessive financial observer; trained as a scientist; experienced in business; has made profound changes in his lifestyle because of what he sees coming. I think it's important that you understand who I am, how I have arrived at my conclusions and opinions, and why I've dedicated my life to communicating them to you. First of all, I am not an economist. I am trained as a scientist, having completed both a PhD and a post-doctoral program at Duke University, where I specialized in neurotoxicology. I tell you this because my extensive training as a scientist informs and guides how I think. I gather data, I develop hypotheses, and I continually seek to accept or reject my hypotheses based on the evidence at hand. I let the data tell me the story. chrismartenson.com
Notes: here is an example further to Chris's on compounding. You may recognize it from school: The scenario was that if you were given a choice to receive one million dollars in one month or starting with a penny and having the daily amount doubled every day for 30 days, which one would you choose? (Day 1: $0.01, Day 2: $0.02, Day 3: $0.04, etc.)If you chose the penny, at the end of 30 days you would have: $5,368,709.12! Sound good? Not done yet! You will also have the accumulated amount of the 30 days; the $5M only represents day 30 whereas the accumulated total is approx. $10,737,418.23. Now, keep this in mind when considering how money is created and interest charged…this exponential number is coming directly out of your pocket into the hands of a very few…
